Yes! Absolutely! This needs to be integrated into Classroom. Hopefully when Classroom isn't 'Preview' anymore. This is an extremely important feature to have to be able to communicate with our students in one platform and in one area. How does this not have more votes??

I found this: http://www.classpolicy.com/product/videos. This seems very similar to what you want Classroom to do. This looks like a 3rd party software, but maybe Microsoft will adopt these features. I know the "Take a Test" mode through Windows is something you're looking for too. We're just starting our 1:1 initiative and we're figuring out the best path/software for this. Let me know if you find something that is free or cheap and works great!

The way that I would do it (and the only way that I know) is to access the Classroom as a Group in your Webmail. Then start a new Conversation. I don't see a way to email the whole class (all members) within Classroom other than posting a comment to a specific assignment. I personally wouldn't do that if it was just a general type of email and not specific to that assignment.

Lock document after it's been closed AND allow teachers to keep an original copy and/or a copy with feedback before they send it back to the student.
