  1. Support for Swedish in dictate

It would be great if you could add Swedish to the dictate tool.

  2. Add a phonetic feature

When young children first learn how to read they learn individual sounds and how to blend them together into a word. For example, the word might is segmented into c-ar-t. Individual grapheme sounds such as c & t are written with a dot underneath and digraphs such as 'ar' are underlined to show children that those 2 letters work together to create one sound. These are called sound buttons.

I think it would be fantastic if there was a feature where you could apply sound buttons to words so that students can attempt to read a word before hearing it.…

  3. Immersive Writer

We would love to develop an Immersive Writer Tool.

This would be able to look at text students have written and highlight all the sentences that are complete in one color. Maybe fragments could be in another color. If words are not capitalized and should be, just a certain color for the letter.

Students would be able to see what sentences they have written successfully and get feedback on what they could revise.

    Thanks!

    Liesl

  6. Learning Tools for Windows 10 App

The Windows 10 App is limited in its usefulness for students without the Learning Tools add-in. For younger students, the Windows 10 App is visually great - I like being able to add images to pages which then appear in the page summary. I would like to use the Windows 10 App for UK KS3 and 4 students when we embrace Windows 10 S devices in the new academic year - without Learning Tools, however, students will be working in different versions of OneNote which is a pain.

  7. text color

Allow us to change the font color, not just the background. Yellow is the color we perceive the fastest and if I have a black background and yellow text font I believe I'll be able to recognize words with ease as I am dyslexic.

  8. Learning tools - read selected text

Allow the user to select the text that they want read out rather than it reading the whole page. Also can the read button be available on a right click also? That way the user and type text, highlight, and have it read back without needing to navigate around the screen

  9. Change Playback Speed of Recordings

I use OneNote to take notes for medical school and record the lectures simultaneously. It would be awesome to have an option to change the playback speed of audio recordings that are clipped to the page, so I can listen to my lectures at 1.5x or 2.0x speed!

  11. reading words while showing pictures

Hi I like how OneNote can read the document out loud to me but I need the pictures and diagrams to really understand what is being said.
It would be great if there was an option to have the text read out loud in a small window while sill being able to move through the document looking at pictures.

  13. Using Finger to Control Immersive Reader

I have had many teachers request that students can use their finger to control the speed/rate at which the immersive reader works. Just like kids will drag their finger across text when they read, teachers would like to see this work using the Immersive Reader feature. Dragging a finger over the text would allow for more control and immersion into the text.

I would like to save the audio from immersive reader just like basic text to speech program. In addition, I would like onenote to also read a selected/highlighted word/phrases.

  16. Dictar en un idioma y automáticamente traducir a otro

La herramienta de dictar está genial. Pero me gustaría que a la vez que se dicta se tradujese el texto a otro idioma.

Ejemplo. Dicto en inglés y aparece en español.
(Podría incluso salir en el idioma en que se dicta y en al que se está traduciendo)

  18. Use cortana to start dictation

I can already launch OneNote with Cortana but it would be great if I could have a page open and then say "cortana start dictation in OneNote" and have it start taking down what I say. This would be useful if I am reading a textbook and want to take some notes without having to look away from the book I'm reading

  19. Option to turn off "automatic punctuation"

When I pause to think, Dictate inserts a period or question mark.
Dictate in Word and Outlook both let me insert my own punctuation by saying "period" or "question mark."
The automatic insertion of punctuation (mostly in the wrong place) makes Dictate mostly useless in OneNote. I have to do it in Word or Outlook, then copy paste to OneNote (backwards from how I normally do things).

While I'm at it when I say "open quote" it inserts a space after the " which is almost never right. E.g., " start of quoted item"

I love dictation. it saves me…
